Creating Spaces within Spaces
Creating spaces within spaces’ is an interactive session challenging all things conventional when it comes to spaces within schools.

From media labs to open plan learning hubs, this workshop will take you through the journey on how a single use space can be altered and developed to cater for multi use purposes, multiple skills sets and different learning behaviours, allowing students to immerse themselves into their learning experience.

By putting students in control of their learning by creating interactive and engaging spaces, they are indirectly being empowered to embrace the 21st Century Learning skills of communication, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity and preparing themselves for the workplaces of the future.

"We’re not just talking about reconfiguring the layout of a classroom or lecture hall, we’re breaking down the physical confines of these walls altogether, transcending traditional boundaries and reimagining the entire learning experience" (Vickers 2017).

Exploring Intensive Project Periods - Our Story and Lessons Learned
In this presentation, we will share with the audience experiences developing alternate schedules in order to provide for deeper project work and new collaborative opportunities. We will provide a general overview of our plan for disruption, the rationale behind it, and details on logistics and schedule. Disrupting your schedule leads to new ways in thinking about our practice. It is not as much about product, but more about experiencing a shift in the way we provide learning experiences.

Auditing Your Learning Environment
Making sure your Learning Environment reflects the learning taking place in your class/school
When we think of innovative learning environments, we often think of a few bean bags around the space, some couches, cushions and lamps thrown in for good measure, and whiteboard surfaces to enhance the tech side of things. How much impact will this actually have on the learning culture of the school? Introducing an audit that looks at the philosophy of learning in your class/school and gives you ideas on how to really transform your learning environment into a place of collaboration, innovation, and creativity.
