The presentation will begin by providing a short context for what gamification is, and is not.  Then a more in depth analysis of game mechanics and how they can set up a low risk "game economy" to solve problems compared with using a high risk grade economy.  The remainder of the presentation will deal with specific examples and case studies of using the low risk game economy for;
classroom behaviors
differentiation
integration
giving new value and context for formative assessment
and how gamification to solve some of these problems for school using standards based assessment.
