The 21st Century Learning Conference is an annual event in Hong Kong where teachers, staff, and school leaders come together to learn, share and discuss current & emerging topics in education with thought leaders, technology, and learning experts, and their peers. With over 650 attendees from 33 countries, it is the event of choice for a diverse international audience. The event blends together inspirational keynotes, practitioner-led workshop sessions, and fun networking opportunities.
In January of 2018 a group of 7 educators from 5 different countries (China, Nigeria, America, Hong Kong and Cyprus) worked across 5 different time zones to plan and prepare a Global Makeathon. The vision was to use robotics to create a connection with, and empathy towards the earth.
What were the benefits of working in a global cohort? What made this collaboration successful? This snapshot explores the process that we went through to arrive at a common vision, as well as providing some tips and tricks on how digital collaboration can be successful.
