Due to the insufficient Chinese language instructional resources, many teachers struggle to enrich students’ learning beyond the use of one or two textbooks. Also, parents need to have access to resources so that they could help students learn at home. I created a website to allow my students and parents to access all the instructional resources that I collected over the years. The website is organized by curriculum domains as well as language topics, which provides an overall vision of what Chinese language learning should be in the 21st century. In my previous job as a Chinese language immersion specialist at the Delaware Department of Education, I helped over a dozen teachers create and maintain their teaching websites. In this presentation, I will share with participants all the technic and instructional lessons I learned along the way of creating and using the website to bring the passion out of students’ learning, as well as building connections from school to home, and from classroom to the world.
